Masters Championship Prop Odds
What will the winning score of The Masters be this year? What will be the lowest score posted? Here’s a look at some prop odds for Augusta.
According to oddsmkers from Bovada.lv, Jason Day is favored to win this major, as he is listed with 13/2 odds to win. Other golfers with short odds are Rory McIlroy (8/1), Jordan Spieth (9/1) and Bubba Watson (10/1).
When it comes to prop odds, the over/under for winning score is listed at 275.5 strokes. Last year, Spieth claimed the championship with a 270 total, which tied the tournament scoring record set by Tiger Woods in 1997. Watson’s win in 2014 was 10 strokes higher at 280 while Adam Scott won with a 279 in 2014. Only twice in the last 14 years has the stroke total been under 276.
For the lowest round recorded in the event, the over/under total is set at 65.5 strokes. Greg Norman and Nick Price hold the course record at 63, which were set in 1996 and 1986, respectively. Spieth posted a 64 in the opening round last year. The field is talented, but it’s not often you see a 66 or better on the scoreboard.
One other interesting prop odd has the Big 3 of Spieth, McIlroy and Day with odds of +220 to win, while the rest of the field getting -285 odds. Spieth is the only one of the three to have a Masters Championship to his credit, and he has just the one. Day and McIlroy are seeking their first titles, though they have come close in the past. This year’s field is filled with potential breakout golfers and plenty of veterans with strong histories at this course. The field is always the safe bet.
