U.S. Open Odds
This week marks the second major of the 2016 golf season as the world’s best compete in the U.S. Open. Here is a look at the odds to win this race.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day are co-favorites to win, as each has 7/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Jordan Spieth (8/1) and Dustin Johnson (14/1). The U.S. Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.
McIlroy is third in the world rankings and he has one win this year. He also is a four-time major winner, including the 2011 U.S. Open. He has finished in the top 10 in three U.S. Open’s, but hasn’t won a major since 2014.
Day is No. 1 in the world rankings and has three wins already in 2016. Day holds one major championship, the 2015 PGA Championship. He has finished in the top 10 in the last four majors and in the last three U.S. Open Championships.
Spieth is second in the world rankings and has two wins this year. He is a two-time major champion that has won the 2015 U.S. Open. Spieth has finished in the top 5 of the last six major championships.
Johnson is sixth in the world rankings. He is winless this year. He also has never won a major championship, but he has finished in the top 5 in the last two U.S. Opens. He also has finished seventh or better in four of the last five majors.
