According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jason Day and Dustin Johnson are co-favorites, as each has 8/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (9/1) and Jordan Spieth (10/1). The British Open Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from Royal Troon in Troon, Scotland.

Day is No. 1 in the world rankings. He has three wins in 2016. Day has one major to his credit, the 2015 PGA Championship. He finished fourth at last year’s British Open and has placed in the top 10 in five straight majors.
Johnson is now No. 2 in the world rankings after winning his last two events, including the U.S. Open. It was his first major championship. He has finished outside the top 10 in the last three British Opens, but has finished seventh or better in five of the last six majors.
McIlroy is fourth in the world rankings. He has one win on the year. McIlroy is a four-time major championship winner, including the 2014 British Open. He was unable to play in last year’s event due to an injury. He has placed in the top 10 in five of the last seven majors he’s played in.
Spieth is third in the world rankings. He has two wins on the year with two runner-up finishes. Spieth is a two-time major winner. He finished fourth in last year’s British Open and has placed in the top 5 in five of the last six majors.
