The Masters Odds
It’s time for the annual classic at Augusta, as The Masters is set to tee off on Thursday. Here is a look at the odds to win.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dustin Johnson is the favorite to win this week’s event, as he is getting 11/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (7/1) and Jordan Spieth (8/1). The Masters takes place Thursday-Sunday from Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia.
Dustin Johnson is on an absolute tear right now and clearly established as the No. 1 golfer in the world rankings. He has won three straight tournaments and finished sixth or better in seven of his last eight events. Johnson has also finished in the top six in the last two Masters, placing fourth a year ago. He owns won major championship to his credit, but has placed in the top 10 in six of the last eight majors.
McIlroy is second in the world rankings. He has yet to win in 2017, but has three top-10 finishes in four events. He has finished in the top 10 in six of his last seven. The Masters is the only major McIlroy has yet to win, as he has four total majors to his credit. He has placed in the top 10 the last three years, with fourth being his top finish in 2015.
Spieth comes into this week sixth in the world rankings. Since a win in the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Spieth has struggled, finishing outside the top 10 in four straight while missing the cut last week. Augusta has been his place, though, as he has finished second in 2014 and 2016 while winning handily in 2015.
