Golf Tournament Picks and Predictions: The Masters 4/5/17

The 2017 Masters tees off tomorrow morning. Here are the golfers we like for the first major of the year. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dustin Johnson is the favorite to win this week’s event, as he is getting 11/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (7/1) and Jordan Spieth (8/1). The Masters takes place Thursday-Sunday from Augusta National in Augusta, Georgia. Bet on The Masters Dustin Johnson is playing too well to ignore, despite the short odds. He has won his last three tournaments to clearly establish himself as the No. 1 golfer in the world. He has finished in the top six in this event the last two years as well, so he can play well at Augusta even when not at his best. I think this hot streak continues as he wins his first green jacket. Jordan Spieth hasn’t exactly been playing his best right now, but Augusta has been his course. He has finished second in 2014 and 2016 while winning in 2015. This is a special place for him and he has the game to continue to do well. Coming off a late collapse last year that kept him from back-to-back green jackets, look for Spieth to make a run at it again this year. Rickie Fowler has 18/1 odds this weekend and we think he has some real value there. Fowler has finished in the top 5 in three of his last five tournament, including one win. He has finished in the top 20 in all five. He missed the cut last year at Augusta, but was 12th in 2015 and fifth in 2014. He is playing well right now and should be able to show his 2014 form this weekend. The 2017 Masters tees off tomorrow morning. Here are the golfers we like for the first major of the year.
