WGC-Mexico Championship Picks
The 2017 WGC-Mexico Championship gets underway on Thursday and features many of the top golfers in the world. Here are some of our picks for this event.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dustin Johnson is favored to win the tournament with 13/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Jordan Spieth (8/1) and Rory McIlroy (12/1). The WGC-Mexico Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from Club de Golf Chapultepec from Naucalpan de Juarez, Mexico. This is the first time this event is taking place in Mexico.
Bet on WGC-Mexico Championship
Dustin Johnson is hard to ignore right now. He has climbed up to the No. 1 ranking in the world and he has placed in the top eight in eight of his last 10 tournaments with two victories. Johnson has also performed well at the WGC level, winning three times, including one event last year.
Rory McIlroy could use another win this weekend to get back near the top of the rankings. He has been playing very well as of late as well, finishing in the top 10 in seven of his last 10 events with two victories. He has won twice in WGC events over his career and has finished in the top 5 in his last three WGC tournaments. Look for McIlroy to be right in the mix again this week.
Henrik Stenson has 14/1 odds to win this weekend and he also has been on a roll lately. Stenson has finished in the top 10 in six straight events, including three runner-up finishes. He also has been pretty strong in recent WGC Tournaments, placing in the top 6 in three of the last six he has competed in. I like Stenson to be in the mix come Sunday.
