QBE Shootout Predictions
The 2017 QBE Shootout is set to get underway on Friday morning. Here are a few of the teams we like to contend for the victory.
Teams of two golfer will compete in three rounds of play. Day 1 will be a scramble, Day 2 will be a modified alternate shot and Day 3 will be a better ball. According to the latest oddsmakers, the team of Harris English and Matt Kuchar are a 4/1 favorite to win this weekend. Other short odds to win are Kevin Chappell and Kevin Kisner (+600) and the team of Charley Hoffman and Zach Johnson (7/1). The QBE Shootout takes place Friday-Sunday from Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida.
Matt Kuchar and Harris English are the defending champions of this team event and two-time winners. In team golf it is important to have a feel for your partner and be able to play off their shots. These two clearly have that chemistry. Kuchar is one of the highest-ranked players competing this weekend.
Charley Hoffman and Zach Johnson are a team I like this weekend as well. Both men are recent veterans of team USA play through the Ryder Cup or Presidents Cup. Hoffman is coming off a nice showing last weekend in the Hero World Challenge, while Johnson is someone that always is in the mix. I think these two will play well together and be a tough act to compete with.
Brandt Snedeker and Bubba Watson are a nice longshot team to consider. They have 10/1 odds to win this weekend but they could just make the right combo. Watson is a power hitter while Snedeker is great with his short game. Neither has been able to really shine much this year, but their combined strengths could make for a great duo.
