Irish Open Predictions
With the Ryder Cup less than a month away, players such as Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry and Tyrell Hatton will look to tune up their game in Ireland this week in preparation for Rome. Will the clear favorite Rory Mcllroy win the event or is the value elsewhere?

Irish Open Betting Odds
On the Outright Winner betting market, Rory Mcllroy is considered the favorite with 7/2 odds to win the Irish Open. Followed by Mcllroy, is Tyrell Hatton sitting with odds of 10/1. Shane Lowry and Min Woo Lee are currently listed at 18/1, while Adam Scott sits at 22/1. The 2022 Irish Open Champion, Adrian Meronk is currently 28/1 to defend his title.
Irish Open Betting Predictions:
Option 1: Rory Mcllroy (+350)
Despite being only +350 in a field of 156 players, everything lines up perfectly to back Rory to be atop of the leaderboard come Sunday afternoon. First off, Mcllroy has played some of his best golf of his career in 2023, despite only winning twice this season. Coming into this event Mcllroy has 10 straight Top-10 finishes dating back to the PGA Championship in May. The K Club is the site for the 2023 Irish Open and while Mcllroy has not had great success in previous Irish Open’s winning only once in 13 tries, his only win came in 2016 at the K Club. Form, history, and the crowd are on Rory’s side entering this week, this feels like the perfect time for him to breakthrough for his second career Irish Open win.
Option 2: Adrian Meronk (+2800)
Nobody more than Adrian Meronk wants to prove that he should been selected by European Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald. Meronk would have been the first Polish player to represent the Europeans in the Ryder Cup.
The talented 30-year-old will look to defend his title here and prove to Donald that he should have been one of the final six wildcard selections. Meronk is sitting in 3 rd in the DP World Rankings entering this tournament only behind Mcllroy and Rahm, and most recently finishing T-13 at the Omega European Masters last week.
The K Club rewards players who have length and precision off the tee box, which fits Meronk’s game perfectly as he leads the DP World Tour in strokes gained off the tee in 2023. With the length of Meronk and the extra motivation he will be playing with this week, I will be surprised if we don’t see his name near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.
Option 3: Adam Scott (+2200)
Adam Scott returns to the Irish Open after a 21-year absence. The 43-year-old Scott has been solid all year posting five Top-10 finishes on the year across the PGA/DP Tour, while only missing two cuts in 18 events. Like our previous two selections Mcllory and Meronk, Scott is strong off the tee box which should result in success at the K Club. Scott ranked 14 th in strokes gained off the tee during the 2023 PGA Tour season. The veteran nature of Scott is also something I like here, as the Arnold Palmer designed K Club brings a lot of tree trouble and water into play. A couple of possible early mistakes shouldn’t rattle him. Scott hasn’t not won an event since 2020, but we will still look for Scott to finish off his 2023 season on a high note as a long shot to win the event.
