Jim Furyk wins RBC Heritage
HILTON HEAD, SC (TheSpread) – Jim Furyk put together a tremendous Sunday to get past Kevin Kisner in a playoff and win the PGA RBC Heritage.
Furyk carded an 8-under 63 on Sunday, which put him at -18 for the tournament. Kisner was pretty impressive as well, shooting a 7-under 64 on the day. Both men tied for the lead, two shots ahead of third-round leader, Troy Merritt. In the playoff, Furyk on won the second hole with a birdie on the par-3 17th.
According to oddsmakers, Furyk came into the week with 20/1 odds to win this tournament, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will payout an additional $2,000.
Furyk had won this tournament before, which makes his surge on Sunday not too surprising. Merritt had the lead throughout the weekend but shot just a 2-under 69 on Sunday to finish at -16 for the tournament. Sean O’Hair was another golfer to go low on Sunday, shooting a 64 to get to -13 for the tournament, which put him in sixth.
