British Open Odds
FIFE, Scotland (TheSpread) – The third major championship of 2015 is set to be decided this week as golfers compete in The Open Championship, also known as The British Open. Here’s the odds to win.
According to oddsmakers from GTBets, Jordan Spieth is the favorite coming into this week as he has 5/1 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Dustin Johnson (11/) and Rickie Fowler (16/1). The British Open takes place July 16-19 from St. Andrews.
Spieth is currently No. 2 in the world rankings. He is coming off a win this past Sunday and he has won the first two majors of 2015. Spieth has played in this event twice, finishing 44th in 2013 and 36th last year.
Dustin Johnson is fourth in the world rankings. He hasn’t played since finishing second at the U.S. Open when he missed a short putt to force a playoff. Johnson is seeking his first major championship, but he did finished second in this event in 2011 and he has finished sixth or better in the first two majors of 2015.
Rickie Fowler is fifth in the world rankings and he is coming off a win in the Scottish Open on Sunday. Fowler finished in the top 5 of all four majors last year, including a second-place finish in the British Open. This year he took 12th at the Masters and missed the cut at the U.S. Open.
