Spieth claims the Masters title
AUGUSTA, GA (TheSpread) – Jordan Spieth had a week to remember, claiming his first major championship on Sunday by winning the 2015 Masters Championship.
Spieth shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday to finished the tournament at -18 overall, which bested the field by four shots. He tied Tiger Woods for the all-time Masters scoring record of 270.
According to oddsmakers, Spieth entered this week with 9/1 odds to win the green jacket, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will pay out an additional $900.
Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose finished tied for second place at -14 overall. Mickelson posted a 3-under 69 on Sunday while Rose shot a 2-under 70. Rory McIlroy made a big climb on Sunday, as he shot a 6-under 66 to get to -12 for the tournament. McIlroy was looking to win his third straight major and claim the career grand slam.
