Woods out of The Masters
AUGUSTA, GA (TheSpread) – Tiger Woods’ pursuit of the all-time major championships record hit another detour on Tuesday.
Woods, who had been dealing with a back injury for a few weeks, elected to have surgery on the injury and he will now be forced to miss The Masters for the first time in his career.
Woods had surgery on Monday for a pinched nerve that had been lingering for months and the No. 1 golfer in the world will be unable to compete in the event he has won four times.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Woods was going to be the favorite to win this event, but with him out, Rory McIlroy is now the favorite to win The Masters, as he has 7/1 odds while Adam Scott has been given 9/1 odds.
The 2014 Masters will take place from Augusta National on April 10-13.
