Updated PGA Championship Odds
Brooks Koepka went a long way to defend his PGA Championship title in the first round of this weekend’s major on Thursday. He now finds himself as the clear favorite.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Brooks Koepka is now listed as a 3/2 favorite to claim his fourth major this weekend. Other short odds to win are Dustin Johnson (10/1), Tommy Fleetwood (12/1) and Rickie Fowler (18/1). The 2019 PGA Championship continues Friday-Sunday from Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York
Koepka was very impressive in his first round, posting a 7-under, 63, to take a large lead. It wasn’t until Danny Lee (28/1) posted a 64 later in the day that it looked like Koepka could have a four-shot lead entering the second round. Koepka has won three majors in his career, including last year’s PGA Championship. He has finished second or better in three of the last four major events.
Fleetwood is currently in third place on his own at -3 for the tournament after posting a 67 in his first round. Fleetwood has never won a major in his career, but he finished second in the 2018 U.S> Open and was in the top 20 in three of the four majors a year ago.
Fowler and Johnson are each at -1 for the tournament after shooting 69’s on Thursday. Only 16 players are currently under par for the PGA Championship. Fowler is seeking his first major championship of his career. He did finish ninth in The Masters a month ago. DJ is a one-time major winner. He is coming off a second-place finish at Augusta.
Pre-tournament favorite Tiger Woods finds himself at +2 for the tournament after struggling his way to a 72 on Thursday. Woods was a 10/1 favorite to start the week and now is at 40/1 to win.
