PGA Championship Predictions
The 2018 PGA Championship will begin play early on Thursday morning. Here’s the golfers we like to contend for the victory this weekend.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson is favored to win this week’s tournament, as he has 8/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (12/1) and Justin Thomas (14/1). The PGA Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri.
Justin Thomas 14/1
Justin Thomas is coming into the weekend with some momentum. He is coming off winning the Bridgestone Invitational last weekend and Thomas is also the defending champion of the PGA Championship. It was his first major championship of his career. Thomas is currently second in the world rankings and has two wins to his credit this year and seven over the last two years. I think Thomas is the man to beat this weekend.
Tommy Fleetwood 28/1
Fleetwood has had a great run in the majors this year and he seems to be inching toward earning the first championship of his career. He was 17th at The Masters, second at the U.S. Open and 12th at the British Open. Fleetwood has also been in the top 15 of his last three tournaments and just playing at a high level right now. The 11th-ranked golfer in the world, I think Fleetwood will be right near the top of the leaderboard again this weekend.
Henrik Stenson 50/1
Stenson has some long odds for a player of his caliber. He is a former major champion and has finished in the top 15 in four of the last five majors. That includes a pair of top-6 finishes this year. Stenson has finished 25th or better in this event the last five years, including a pair of third-place finishes. Stenson is just a steady player that seems to raise the level of his game at the majors.
