Dell Technologies Championship Picks
The FedEx Cup Playoffs continue action on Thursday morning when the Dell Technologies Championship tees off. Here’s some golfers we like for this event.
The Dell Technologies Championship features the top 100 players in the current FedEx Cup standings and is the second of four playoff events. According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson is favored to win this week. He has 17/2 odds to prevail. Other short odds to win are Justin Thomas (10/1), Brooks Koepka (12/1) and Rory McIlroy (14/1). The Dell Technologies Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts.
Bet on the Dell Technologies Championship
Justin Thomas 10/1
Along with being the defending champion of this event and the defending FedEx Cup champion, Thomas is playing quite well right now. He has finished eighth or better in three straight events, including a win in a WGC event. Thomas has two wins and nine top-10 finishes this year with just one missed cut. Dating back to last year, Thomas has finished in the top 10 in four of the last five playoff events. He just performs at this time of year.
Rory McIlroy 14/1
Sitting out last week didn’t help McIlroy’s chances to win the playoffs. He will need a big showing this weekend. As a two-time champion of this event, it is certainly possible. Over his career, McIlroy has performed well in these playoffs. He has four wins in playoff events, which is tied with Dustin Johnson for most of any golfer. While 2018 hasn’t been one of his finest years, he still has eight top-10 finishes. I expect something good out of McIlroy this weekend.
Billy Horschel 45/1
Horschel is another golfer with a history for turning it on this time of year. He was the 2014 FedEx Cup winner after winning two playoff tournaments. Horschel hasn’t been able to find that magic often since that championship, but he has shown some life in recent weeks. Horschel was 11th at the Wyndham Championship and third at last week’s Northern Trust. Horschel seems to feel comfortable in these big playoff events and I think he can make a surprise run at the title this weekend.
