Farmers Insurance Open Predictions
The 2020 PGA Tour gets its first look at Tiger Woods this weekend for the Farmers Insurance Open. Here’s the golfers we like to contend for the win.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Rory McIlroy is the favorite this weekend, as he is listed with 5/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Jon Rahm (15/2), Tiger Woods (10/1) and Xander Schauffele (16/1). The 2020 Farmers Insurance Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Torry Pines in La Jolla, California.
Bet on the Farmers Insurance Open
1002 Tiger Woods 10/1
Woods is a 7-time winner of this tournament and I think he can definitely be in the mix again this year. After winning The Masters, Woods took it slow the rest of 2019, but he still won the ZOZO Championship late in the year and finished fourth in the Hero World Challenge in his last event of 2019. I think Woods comes into this event rested and ready to go. He certainly knows how to navigate Torrey Pines successfully, so I expect him to be among the top contenders.
1004 Justin Rose 18/1
Rose is the defending champion of this tournament and I feel good about his chances to repeat. Rose has been playing very consistently over the last year. He has made the cut in 18 straight events and has placed in the top five of his last two tournaments. Rose tends to find himself in the top 10 quite frequently and I would expect the same this weekend. If he can make some key puts, Rose can definitely raise the trophy a second consecutive year.
1007 Jason Day 40/1
There’s a lot of longshot value on Jason Day this weekend. Day is a two-time winner of this tournament, taking the title in 2015 and 2018. He also finished second in 2014 and fifth last year. The 2019 season didn’t go terribly well for Day, as he didn’t grab a win and missed five cuts. He didn’t finish the year strong either, missing cuts in three of his last seven events. However, I think he can bounce back this weekend at a course he likes a lot and has played very well at for years. Some players just do well in certain events and that is the case for Day in this tournament.
