Genesis Open Predictions
The 2019 Genesis Open tees off on Thursday morning out in the Pacific Palisades. Here’s three golfers we like to contend for the win this weekend.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson is favored to win this tournament, as he is listed with 17/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Justin Thomas (12/1), Bryson DeChambeau (14/1) and Rory McIlroy (14/1). The Genesis Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, California.
Bryson DeChambeau 14/1
DeChambeau has been having a great six months of golf. He finished 2018 strong and had four wins by the end of the year. In four events this year, DeChambeau has placed in the top 10 in all of them, including one victory. His performances have pushed him to fifth in the world rankings. I like him to continue his hot streak this week as he is playing with as much confidence as anyone right now.
Bubba Watson 20/1
Watson is a three-time champion of this tournament and the defending winner as well. Watson doesn’t have a lot of strong finishes this year, but he is notorious for performing well at specific events and this is one of them. Watson has been able to bring out his best at this course and it suits his wild style of play. History says that Watson will have some real value this weekend.
Tony Finau 28/1
Finau is looking for a breakout performance this weekend after getting off to a slow start in 2019. He has failed to crack the top 10 in three events this year, but he finished runner-up in this tournament a year ago. Finau landed in the top 10 in 12 events a year ago and had a strong Ryder Cup showing. He has the potential to really be a top player in the world, he just needs a little momentum. I think he finds it this weekend at a course he has played well at before.
