Honda Classic Predictions
The 2019 PGA Honda Classic tees off on Thursday morning from Florida and features a competitive field. Here’s some golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Justin Thomas is favored to win, as he has 5/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Rickie Fowler (10/1), Adam Scott (14/1), Brooks Koepka (14/1) and Gary Woodland (14/1). The PGA Honda Classic takes place Thursday-Sunday from PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Rickie Fowler 10/1
Fowler already owns a win this year and he is a former champion of this event, picking up the title in 2017. Fowler has been a little hot and cold this year, but still hasn’t missed a cut. Overall, Fowler has placed in the top 10 in five of his last eight tournaments and in the top 10 in eight of his last 10. I think Fowler should be able to contend for the win this weekend as he will be comfortable at this course.
Gary Woodland 14/1
Woodland has been playing well for the most part of 2019. He has finished in the top 10 in three of his five tournaments and in the top 20 in four of them. Woodland finished runner up to Fowler in this tournament in 2017, so he should come into this weekend with plenty of confidence. Woodland has been climbing up the world rankings for the last two years and now sits at 23rd. I think he will be a top contender to win as he continues his upward stretch.
Alex Noren 40/1
Noren has had a rough start to his 2019, but has been a consistent contender over the last four years prior. Noren has won at least one tournament from 2015-18 and he comes to a course where he finished third a year ago. Noren hasn’t cracked the top 40 this year, which has moved his odds up larger than usual. He still sits 26th in the world rankings and I think his longer odds can really lead to good things this weekend if he can break out of his slump.
