John Deere Classic Picks
The PGA Tour makes its final stop before the British Open next weekend when golfers compete in the John Deere Classic this weekend. Here’s the golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Viktor Hovland is the favorite this weekend, as he has 16/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Collin Morikawa (18/1), Joaquin Niemann (20/1) and Sungjae Im (20/1). The 2019 John Deere Classic takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
1004 Joaquin Niemann 20/1
This field is severely lacking, as most of the top players in the world are already out in Europe getting ready for next week’s major. Niemann is someone that is playing pretty well right now and is ranked 79th in the world. He has finished in the top 10 in two of his last three events and he was 23rd in this tournament a year ago. I think he can build on that experience from last year and ride the momentum he is on right now into a strong finish.
1011 Ryan Moore 25/1
The 2019 season hasn’t been great for Moore. He has missed six cuts and has just one top-10 finish. However, this is an event that he has done well at in the past. Moore was the 2016 winner of this tournament and he enters this weekend with a very weak field to contend against. I think his past experience winning here will help him and give him a lot of confidence. There aren’t many players he will see this weekend that have the resume he does over a PGA career.
1005 Zach Johnson 28/1
Johnson may be the most accomplished golfer in this entire field and this is his an event he is very passionate about and makes sure to appear in each year. ZJ won this tournament in 2012 and also finished second three other times. He also was 16th last year and fifth in 2017. Johnson should be right at home this weekend and be able to make a run at the victory. There aren’t many players more consistent with their swing than him.
