PGA Odds: Jordan Spieth a 5/1 favorite to win The Barclays this week

EDISON, NJ (TheSpread) – The Barclays is the first event in the 2015 FedEx Cup Playoffs and it tees off this week. Here’s a look at the odds to win this tournament.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Jordan Spieth is the favorite to win this event, as he has 5/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Jason Day (8/1) and Justin Rose (10/1). The Barclays takes place on Aug. 27-30 from Plainfield Country Club in Edison, NJ.

Spieth is No. 1 in the world golf rankings and he has four wins this year to go with a total of 13 top 5s in 20 events played. He placed 22nd in this tournament a year ago.

Day is third in the world rankings and coming off a win in the PGA Championship two weeks ago. Day has three wins and a total of 8 top 10s this year in 16 events. Day finished second in this event a year ago.

Rose is fifth in the world rankings and coming off a fourth-place finish at the PGA Championship. He has one win and seven top 10s in 19 events for the 2015 year. He placed 30th in this event last year.
