PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – Many of the top golfers in the world meet this week in Florida for the 2015 PLAYERS Championship. Here’s a look at the odds to win this PGA event.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Rory McIlroy is the favorite this week, as he has 7/1 odds, while Jordan Spieth has 15/2 odds. Another golfer with rather short odds is Tiger Woods, who is listed at 28/1. The PLAYERS Championship will be held May 7-10 from The PLAYERS Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
McIlroy is firmly in the top spot in the world rankings following his win in the Match Play Championship last week. He has now placed in the top 5 in seven of his last 11 events, which includes two victories. He finished sixth in this event last year.
Spieth is second in the world rankings thanks to his impressive win in the Masters last month. Spieth has finished 11th or better in 10 of his last 13 events, including four victories. He finished fourth in this event last year.
Woods is a former two-time winner of this event. His last win came in 2013. Woods is currently 125th in the world rankings. He last played at The Masters, where he finished 17th. He has yet to have a top 10 since late in 2013. The last time he played in this event was his 2013 victory.
