AT&T Byron Nelson Free Picks
The 2016 AT&T Byron Nelson begins play on Thursday morning. Here are a trio of golfers that we think can win this weekend.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jordan Spieth is a 7/1 favorite to win this week. Other short odds to win are Dustin Johnson (8/1) and Matt Kuchar (20/1). The AT&T Byron Nelson takes place Thursday-Sunday from the TPC Four Seasons at Las Colinas in Irving, Texas.
Dustin Johnson isn’t the favorite, but there seems to be reason to believe he has a better shot to win over Spieth. Spieth has been a little shaky as of late while Johnson is coming to a tournament where he placed eighth a year ago. Johnson has made the cut in 11 straight events with five top-5 finishes in that stretch.
Louis Oosthuizen has 33/1 odds to win this week and we think that is good value for a golfer ranked 13th in the world. He already has a win this year and he has finished in the top 15 in six of his last eight tournaments. A win for Oosthuizen would make him the second South African to win this tournament since 2009. We think he can make that happen.
Jimmy Walker has 50/1 odds to win this weekend, and that is understandable as he has missed his last two cuts. However, we think he has a real shot to bounce back in a big way this week. Walker finished runner-up in this tournament last year and he has been playing well for a good chunk of the year. He has six top-20 finishes in 2016 with three finishes inside the top 10.
