The 2016 FedEx St. Jude Classic begins play on Thursday morning. Here are some suggested plays we have for this tournament.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dustin Johnson is favored to win this week, as he has 6/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Phil Mickelson and Brooks Koepka, who each have 12/1 odds. The FedEx St. Jude Classic takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn.
Bet on the FedEx St. Jude Classic
Dustin Johnson is the top-ranked player in this somewhat light field. He’s a former winner of this tournament and has been playing strong in 2016, with six top-10 finishes. Though he has yet to get a win this year, this weekend certainly could be his time.
Francesco Molinari has 60/1 odds to win this weekend. Molinari hasn’t had the best 2016, but this is a field where he can break through. He missed his last cut, but he strung together six straight cuts made after missing a cut before, which included a pair of top-10 finishes. Look for Molinari to bounce back from last week’s poor showing to push for a win this week.
Fabian Gomez is listed with long odds of 100/1, but he dominated this tournament last year, winning by four shots. His 267 was the lowest score since 2011. While this year’s hasn’t been overly strong for him, he does have a win in the Sony Open. Given his strong showing last year, he’s worth a flyer without such a large payout.
