The Arnold Palmer Invitational tees off on Thursday. Here’s some golfers we think can contend for the victory this weekend.
According to the latest oddsmakers at YouWager, Tiger Woods is the favorite to win this week, as he is getting odds of 6/1 to prevail. Other short odds to win are Jason Day (12/1), Justin Rose (14/1) and Rory McIlroy (16/1). The Arnold Palmer Invitational takes place Thursday-Sunday from Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando, Florida.

6302 Jason Day 12/1
As much as I would like to pick Tiger Woods, I still find it hard to believe he is ready to win, especially after playing last week. Day is someone that had a rough 2017 season, but he is playing really well thus far in 2018, posting a win and a runner-up finish. Prior to that he had finished 11th or better in his last three outings. He also won this event in 2016. I think Day is ready to have another great showing this weekend.
6308 Hideki Matsuyama 25/1
Matsuyama is coming off a thumb injury, which has pushed his odds back. However, he seems to be ready to return. Prior to his injury, Matsuyama had finished in the top 5 in three of his last four tournaments. He has finished 12th or better in five of his last six events as well. This is a tournament that Matsuyama finished sixth in two years ago. I expect him to contend this weekend.
6333 Charley Hoffman 80/1
Hoffman is a longshot that I like right now. He finished runner-up in last year’s Arnold Palmer Invite. While his 2018 season hasn’t been a good one, I think he can get on track this weekend. Hoffmann is someone that puts up the occasional run for a victory and I think that will be in this tournament. He is coming off a missed cut and the last time that happened, he followed it up with a runner-up finish.
