Fort Worth Invitational Predictions
The PGA Tour will begin play in the Fort Worth Invitational on Thursday morning. Here are three golfers we think can contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Jordan Spieth is favored this week, as he has 7/1 odds to win. Other short odds to prevail are Jon Rahm (12/1), Rickie Fowler (16/1), Justin Rose (22/1) and Webb Simpson (22/1). The Forth Worth Invitational takes place Thursday-Sunday from Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
Jordan Spieth 7/1
Spieth has done very well in this tournament. He was the winner in 2016 while finishing second in 2017 and 2015. While Spieth hasn’t been at his best in recent weeks, I think he can bounce back this weekend in his home state. He shouldn’t lack for confidence on this course and this field isn’t overly stacked.
Jon Rahm 12/1
Rahm is having a really strong 2018 season, winning two of the 10 tournaments he has played in. He also finished runner-up in one tournament while not missing a cut in any of the 10 tournaments he has played in this year. Rahm also has played well in this tournament. He joined Spieth in finishing second last year.
Jason Dufner 28/1
Jason Dufner hasn’t been having the greatest 2018, as he has just one top-10 finish out of 12 tournaments and has missed three cuts. However, he is coming off a fifth-place finish at The Players Championship a few weeks ago and now comes to a tournament that has been pretty good to him. Dufner was the sole runner-up in this tournament back in 2012 and 2014. Given the little momentum he created at The Players, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Dufner be near the top of the leaderboard this weekend as well.
