Memorial Tournament Predictions
A highly competitive field tees off in The Memorial Tournament on Thursday morning. Here’s a look at three golfers we like to contend for the win this weekend.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Justin Thomas is now the favorite to win this week, as he has 12/1 odds to win. Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy and Jason Day each have 14/1 odds to win. The Memorial Tournament takes place from Thursday-Sunday from Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
Justin Rose 14/1
Rose is up to third in the world rankings after his win least weekend. While winning back-to-back weeks is difficult, this is a tournament that has been pretty good to him. He was the 2010 champion while finishing second in 2015 and 2008. Rose is on a nice run this year, making the cut in all nine tournaments he’s played in, so I expect another strong showing this weekend.
Jason Day 14/1
Day is having a tremendous start to the 2018 season as well. He has played in seven events this year and has two victories with another runner-up finish. Day has made the cut in all seven tournaments as well. He is coming off a win in the Wells Fargo Championship and a fifth-place finish in The Players Championship. Day finished 15th here a year ago and I think he will improve on that this weekend.
Henrik Stenson 28/1
Stenson has not won in 2018, but he has finished in the top 10 in more than half of the tournaments he has played in this year. Out of eight appearances this year, Stenson has five top-10 finishes. That includes a fifth-place finish at The Masters and a fourth-place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. Those are two other very competitive tournaments. Stenson should feel right at home this weekend and be able to contend again.
