Quicken Loans National Predictions
The 2018 Quicken Loans National begins play on Thursday morning in Maryland. Here are three golfers we like to contend for the victory this weekend.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Rickie Fowler is the clear favorite, as he is getting 7/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Tiger Woods (12/1) and Marc Leishman (18/1). The Quicken Loans National takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Potomac in Potomac, Maryland.
Rickie Fowler 7/1
Fowler isn’t having the best year right now, but this field is pretty light and he definitely is the top player. Fowler is eighth in the world rankings right now. He was a former runner-up in this tournament, finishing second in 2015. Fowler has played in 13 tournaments this year and is winless, but he has one runner-up at The Masters. However, he only has three top-10 finishes in 2018 and three missed cuts as well. Still, if Fowler gets rolling, he will be able to beat this field.
Kyle Stanley 20/1
Stanley comes into this weekend as the defending champion. His 2018 season has been a little hit-and-miss, but returning to a track he is comfortable at should help him have another strong showing. He was second at The Memorial just a month ago and was 15th in a competitive field at the Travelers Championship. I think Stanley should push for back-to-back championships this weekend.
Jimmy Walker 30/1
Walker hasn’t had a tremendous 2018 season either, but he has been on somewhat of an upswing. He has made the cut in nine straight tournaments, finishing in the top 10 in three of them and in the top 20 in five of them. That includes a runner-up finish in The Players Championship. Walker is a guy that is capable of getting on a nice run when he finds his consistency. He has been consistent for a few months and I think he can definitely pull off a win in this lackluster field.
