Spieth wins TOUR Championship
Jordan Spieth had a slow start to the FedEx Cup Playoffs, but he finished them in a big way, winning the TOUR Championship on Sunday and claiming the FedEx Cup title.
Spieth was steady all weekend, posting no worse than a 68 in the first three rounds. He shot just a 69 on Sunday to finish at -9 for the tournament, but that was all he needed, as he beat the field by four shots. Danny Lee, Justin Rose and Henrik Stenson all finished at -5.
According to oddsmakers, Spieth came into the tournament with 7/1 odds to win, which means that a $100 wager on him to win will pay out an additional $700.
Despite missing the cut in the first two playoff events, Spieth still won the overall FedEx Cup with the win thanks to his tremendous 2015 season that gave him a big lead heading into the playoffs. Spieth finished nearly 1,500 points better than the field. Stenson ended up second in the standings, just ahead of Jason Day, who finished 10th in the tournament at -2 overall.
