Justin Rose wins PGA Zurich Classic
AVONDALE, LA (TheSpread) – Justin Rose built off his strong performance at The Masters by picking up the championship in the PGA Zurich Classic of New Orleans on Sunday.
Rose shot a 6-under 66 on Sunday that put him at -22 for the tournament, which was one shot better than Cameron Tringale. Rose had a great weekend, posting a 65-66 to win the event by one shot. Tringale shot a 65 on Sunday to come in second place on his own.
According to oddsmakers, Rose came into the week with 7/1 odds to win this tournament, which means a wager of $100 on him to win will payout an additional $700.
Sunday featured a number of top performances, with four of the top-5 finishers posting a 65. Boo Weekley had been in the lead after the first round. He posted a 65 on Sunday to finish at -20 overall and land in third place. Jim Herman shot a 65 on Sunday to get to -19 for the tournament, which put him in a tie for fourth with Jason Day. Day led heading into the final day, but he shot a 69 in the final round.
