Safeway Open Odds
The 2019 PGA Tour officially gets its season started this week, even though it’s still 2018, with the playing of the Safeway Open. Here’s a look at the odds to win this tournament.
According to the latest oddsmakers. Patrick Cantlay is favored to win, as he is getting odds of 14/1 to win. Other short odds to win are Brandt Snedeker (20/1), Ryan Moore (22/1), Joaquin Niemann (25/1) and Phil Mickelson (25/1). The Safeway Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California.
Cantlay is 22nd in the current world rankings. He is winless on the year with five top-10 finishes over 20 tournaments. He has only missed two cuts, but cracked the top 10 just twice in his last nine events.
Snedeker is 51st in the world rankings coming into this week. He just picked up a win in the Wyndham Championship in July. Out of 23 tournaments this year, he has placed in the top 10 in four of them, but missed the cut in seven others.
Moore is 71st in the world rankings right now. In 2018, Moore has played in 19 tournaments and has yet to secure a win. He has four top-10 finishes with five missed cuts. Last year, Moore finished 17th in this event.
Niemann is way back at 157th in the world rankings. He has played in 13 events in 2018 and has finished in the top 10 in four of them while missing the cut in four others. He has yet to record a win in his PGA history.
Mickelson is coming off a poor Ryder Cup showing last week in Paris. He did manage a win this year in 23 events, but he has not cracked the top 10 in 13 straight tournaments. Mickelson did finish third in this event a year ago. He is currently 24th in the world rankings.
