The Memorial Tournament Predictions
With another major championship approaching, some of the top names in golf come together this weekend for The Memorial Tournament. Here’s three golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Rory McIlroy is favored this weekend, as he is getting 9/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Tiger Woods (11/1), Patrick Cantlay (14/1), Justin Rose (16/1) and Rickie Fowler (16/1). The Memorial Tournament takes place Thursday-Sunday from Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.
Bet on The Memorial Tournament
1000 Rory McIlroy 9/1
McIlroy has played really well this year, finishing in the top 10 in nine of his 10 tournaments this year. That includes one win as well. His worst showing this year was 21st at Augusta for The Masters. Last year, McIlroy finished eighth in this event as well. Given his consistent ability to finish in the top 10, I like McIlroy to be near the top of the leaderboard again on Sunday. Then it’s just a matter of hitting a putt or two.
1007 Patrick Cantlay 14/1
Cantlay is on a really nice run right now. He has finished in the top 10 in three straight tournaments and third in his last two events. That includes the PGA Championship. This year, Cantlay has five top-10 finishes over nine tournaments. He also placed fourth in this tournament a year ago, so he should come into this weekend with plenty of confidence. I like Cantlay to make a run at the win as well.
1009 Tony Finau 22/1
Tony FInau was having a bit of a shaky 2019 until breaking through last week with a runner-up finish. I think that is going to spark something for Finau, who also was fifth at The Masters in April. Of 12 tournaments, he has just one missed cut this year. He is very consistent with his play, but he hasn’t broken through until last week. Finau is someone I think will build off of that showing last weekend. He was 13th in this tournament last year and I expect better this year.
