According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Rory McIlroy is favored to win this tournament, as he has 5/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Jason Day (7/1), Dustin Johnson (17/2) and Jordan Spieth (14/1). The BMW Championship features the top 70 remaining on the FedEx Cup points list and takes place Thursday-Sunday this week from Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, IN.
McIlroy won this tournament back in 2012. He is now third in the world rankings after winning the Deutsche Bank Championship last week. He has two wins this year with 11 top-10 finishes.
Day is the defending champion of this tournament. He is No. 1 in the world rankings thanks to three wins in 2016. He also has 10 top-10 finishes this year and has placed in the top 15 in four straight events.
Johnson won this tournament in 2010. He is No. 2 in the latest world rankings thanks to a pair of wins and 12 top-10 finishes this year. He has placed in the top 10 in six of the last eight events he’s played in.
Spieth has never won this tournament. He finished 13th a year ago. He has dipped back to fourth in the world rankings, however, he still has two wins and eight top-10 finishes in 2016.
