CIMB Classic Odds
The PGA Tour heads overseas this week with the playing of the CIMB Classic. Here is a look at the odds to win this event.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Justin Thomas is the favorite this week, as he has 4/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Hideki Matsuyama (8/1) and Paul Casey (10/1). The CIMB Classic takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Kuala Lumpur in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Thomas is the two-time defending champion of this tournament. He is coming off a 2017 season to remember, winning four tournaments including the PGA Championship for his first major. He also claimed the FedEx Cup and is now fourth in the world rankings. Thomas has finished sixth or better in four of his last five tournaments, including two wins and a runner-up finish.
Matsuyama finished third in this event las year, losing to Thomas by three strokes. He comes into this weekend third in the world rankings, but he soured toward the end of the season. He has finished outside the top 20 in his last four events and didn’t have a very good Presidents Cup either. He had two wins in the 2017 season and five in 2016.
Casey is 14th in the world rankings right now. He is coming off another winless season, his third straight. Still, he finished the year strong, placing in the top five in three of his last four events. Casey also had eight top-10 finishes during the year. Casey finished 21st in this tournament a year ago.
