According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jordan Spieth is favored to win this tournament, as he is getting 13/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Hideki Matsuyama (15/2), Justin Thomas (14/1) and Jimmy Walker (20/1). The Sony Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Waialae Golf Course in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Spieth sits fifth in the world rankings and is coming off a third-place finish in the SBS Tournament of Champions. Spieth had three wins last year and has placed in the top 10 in three straight events.
Matsuyama is sixth in the world rankings and he finished second in last week’s event. He has actually finished second or first in six straight tournaments, including four wins.
Thomas has climbed up to 12th in the world rankings thanks to his win in the Tournament of Champions. He has now won two of his last four tournaments while placing in the top 10 in five of his last six. Thomas missed the cut in this tournament a year ago.
Walker is a two-time winner of this event, last taking the title in 2015 with a 9-stroke victory. He currently sits 20th in the world rankings, but has just one top-10 finish in his last six tournaments.
