Genesis Open Picks
The 2017 Genesis Open tees off on Thursday. Here are the three golfers we like to come away with the win this weekend.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jordan Spieth is the favorite this weekend with 7/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Dustin Johnson (8/1) and Hideki Matsuyama (10/1). Other short odds are Jason Day (12/1) and Justin Rose (14/1). The Genesis Open takes place on Thursday-Sunday from Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill.
Back-to-back wins aren’t easy to come by, but I think Jordan Spieth can do it. He’s been on a roll in 2017, including a win last week at Pebble Beach. He has finished third or better in three of his last four events and I expect more of the same this weekend. Don’t be afraid to be on him again.
Dustin Johnson has been a regular contender in this event, but has yet to win it. He finished second in 2015 and 2014 and I am looking for him to make another push for the title this weekend. Johnson was third at Pebble Beach last weekend, so he’s playing at a high level as is and is now coming to a course that has suited him well.
Hideki Matsuyama is another favorite, but also hard to ignore. He has won four of the last seven tournaments he has played in and five of his last eight. He is coming off a win in Phoenix two weeks ago, which was a competitive field. You should continue to ride him while he is hot.
