Sony Open Predictions
The 2017 Sony Open is set to get started on Thursday in Hawaii. Here are some golfers we like to contend for the win.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jordan Spieth is the favorite with 6/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Hideki Matsuyama (15/2) and Justin Thomas (14/1). The Sony Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Waialae Golf Course in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Jordan Spieth is the favorite and we like him in this lackluster field. Spieth is the highest-ranked golf at fifth and he is coming off a good showing last week in the Tournament of Champions. He has finished in the top 10 in three straight and should be right in the mix this week.
It’s hard to pick against Hideki Matsuyama right now. The pride of Japan is on a tear, winning four of his last six events while finishing second in the other two, including last week’s Tournament of Champions. We think you should continue to ride his hot streak.
Paul Casey has 25/1 odds to win this week’s event and we think he brings in some good value there. He has made the cut in nine straight events, which includes five top-10 finishes. Casey hasn’t won since 2014, but he is primed to finally break through this weekend.
