The Honda Classic Picks
The 2017 The Honda Classic gets underway on Thursday morning. Here are some golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Adam Scott is favored to win, as he has 11/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Sergio Garcia (16/1), Rickie Fowler (16/1) and Justin Thomas (16/1). The Honda Classic takes place on Thursday-Sunday from PGA National Resort & Spa in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Adam Scott is favored for a reason. He has been playing very consistently over the last few months, finishing in the top 15 in 10 of their last 11 tournaments. He also is the defending champion of this tournament, so that combined with his string of strong play makes him a definite candidate to win.
Sergio Garcia is playing well right now as well. He has recorded a win in 2017 already and has placed in the top 20 in five of his last six tournaments. He finished second in this event last year to Scott, so this is a course he can navigate. Look for Garcia to remain hot this weekend as well.
Russell Knox has 25/1 odds to win this weekend. While he missed the cut in his last event, the Phoenix Open, he had placed 17th or better in his six events prior, including three top-10 finishes. Knox finished runner-up in this tournament back in 2014, so this course is one he can handle. I like Knox as a slight outside shot.
