The Players Championship Picks
The 2017 The Players Championship tees off Thursday. Here are some golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dustin Johnson is the favorite in this tournament, as he is getting 7/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (10/1) and Jordan Spieth (12/1). The Players Championship takes place on Thursday-Sunday from The Players Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
Bet on The Players Championship
Dustin Johnson remains hot despite the minor setback with his back injury. He returned to action last week and finished second, one shot from achieving a fourth consecutive victory. He has three wins on the year with a total of seven top-10 finishes in eight events. Typically, runs in golf don’t last long. However, you can’t past up playing Johnson right now. He seems to be as locked as anyone has been in some time.
Rory McIlroy has been pretty strong this year and seeking his first win of 2017. McIlroy has competed in five golf tournaments and has finished in the top 10 in four of them. McIlroy was also competitive in this event a year ago, finishing 12th. He placed eighth in 2015. While I do think that Johnson is the man to beat this weekend, McIlroy should give him a run for his money.
Rickie Fowler has 22/1 odds to win this weekend’s tournament and I like that number for him. Fowler is having a nice run as of late, finishing 11th or better in five of his last six tournaments. That also includes a win in The Honda Classic. Fowler was the 2015 champion of The Players and he also was second in 2012. This is a course he has excelled at and should excel at again this week.
