TOUR Championship Picks
The TOUR Championship concludes the 2016 PGA season and gets started on Thursday. Here’s the golfers we like to contend to win.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dustin Johnson is favored in this tournament, as he has 5/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Rory McIlroy (7/1), Jordan Spieth (15/2) and Jason Day (9/1). The TOUR Championship features the top 30 remaining on the FedEx Cup points list and takes place Thursday-Sunday this week from East Lake Golf Course in Atlanta, Georgia.
It would make sense for Dustin Johnson to end his 2016 season with a win and the FedEx Cup. He has three wins this year, including a major, and has a total of 13 top-10 finishes in 20 events. He has finished in the top 10 in eight of his last 10 events and should be a contender in this field of 30.
Jordan Spieth hasn’t had a great 2016 based on his 2015. However, this could be a tournament he can win. He is the defending champion and finished second a few years ago, so East Lake is a course he knows how to play well. Spieth still has two wins this year, so he is competitive despite not being dominant.
Brandt Snedeker has 40/1 odds to win and is the 2012 champion of this tournament. Snedeker has had a nice 2016 campaign, winning one tournament while finishing in the top 10 in seven events. He is a dark horse to win this weekend, but his past success at East Lake gives him some nice value at 40/1.
