Phoenix Open Picks
The 2017 Waste Management Phoenix Open will get underway on Thursday morning. Here are some golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jordan Spieth is the favorite to win, as he is getting (8/1) odds. Other short odds to win are Hideki Matsuyama (10/1) and Justin Thomas (11/1). The Waste Management Phoenix Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Scottsdale.
Bet on the Waste Management Phoenix Open
Justin Thomas has been too hot to ignore. He has climbed up to eighth in the world rankings after winning his first two events of 2017. He now has three wins in his last five golf tournaments. While he missed the cut at this event a year ago, he is playing at a much higher level now.
Phil Mickelson has 25/1 odds to win this weekend, but I like that number for the three-time winner of this event. He holds the tournament record here at shooting a -28, 256 total in 2013. He also has finished in the top 25 in five straight tournaments, including a 14th-place finish last week.
J.B. Holmes has 40/1 odds to win this tournament and we think that has good value. Holmes finished sixth in this tournament a year ago. He also has made the cut in seven straight events and that includes a fourth-place finish and an 11th-place finish. He has been doing enough to compete and I think he steps up at this course once again.
