Wells Fargo Championship Picks
The 2017 Wells Fargo Championship tees off Thursday. Here are some golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dustin Johnson is favored to win this tournament, as he has 9/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Jon Rahm (11/1), Adam Scott (16/1) and Paul Casey (20/1). The Wells Fargo Championship takes place on Thursday-Sunday from Eagle Point Golf Course in Wilmington, North Carolina.
Bet on the Wells Fargo Championship
Dustin Johnson is the favorite for good reason. Despite the injury at Augusta, he should be back to 100 percent this week. Johnson has won his last three tournaments and has climbed to the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world. He also has finished in sixth or better in seven of his last eight tournaments. Look for Johnson to maintain his high level of play this weekend.
Webb Simpson has 28/1 odds to win this weekend. There is some value for the 67th-ranked player in the world. He is coming off an 11th-place finish in the RBC Heritage, which was his first solid showing in months. Now he comes to an event where he finished second in 2015. Simpson doesn’t have a win since 2013, but things seem to be aligning themselves for him to contend this weekend.
J.B. Holmes has 50/1 odds this weekend, but we think that’s good value for the 2014 winner of this tournament. While he doesn’t have a lot of top showings this year, he is very consistent at making cuts. He has missed just one in his last 14 events. With this field lacking a lot of star power, and him having a good history here, Holmes should make the cut and make a run up the leaderboard.
