BMW Championship Picks
The BMW Championship is set to begin play on Thursday morning. Here are some of the golfers we think will contend for the victory this weekend.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Jordan Spieth is favored to win this event, as he has (13/2) odds. Other short odds to win are Dustin Johnson (7/1), Justin Thomas (10/1) and Rickie Fowler (12/1). The BMW Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois.
Jordan Spieth is on a nice run right now that has him back to second in the world rankings. He has finished second in the first two events of the FedEx Cup playoffs and has the points lead with two tournaments remaining. Spieth has three wins this year with three runner-up finishes as well. He has finished in the top 2 in four of his last six tournaments. Look for another great effort from Spieth this weekend as well.
Justin Thomas has been as hot at Spieth, if not hotter. Thomas has climbed to fourth in the world rankings thanks to his PGA Championship victory and his win in the Dell Technologies Championship a few weeks ago. Thomas has won four events on the year and has finished in the top 6 in three straight tournaments. He sits just behind Spieth for first in the playoff standings. Thomas looks like he’s here to stay and we think he can continue to ride this momentum to another top finish.
Jason Day has 18/1 odds to win this tournament. He won the BMW Championship in 2015 at the same course they are at this year. Day has yet to pick up a win this year, but he has finished in the top 25 in four straight events, including a pair of top-10 finishes. Day has been slowly working toward getting back to his prime. While he’s not there, I think this is a tournament that can help him get there. Day likes this course and he has been competitive recently. Look for him to make a run at the tournament this week.
