Dean & DeLuca Invite Picks
The 2017 Dean & DeLuca Invitational tees off Thursday morning. Here are a selection of golfers we like to contend for the win this weekend.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth are the favorites this week, as each has 11/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Sergio Garcia, who has 14/1 odds. The Dean & DeLuca Invitational takes place on Thursday-Sunday from Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
Bet on the Dean & DeLuca Invitational
Jordan Spieth hasn’t been terribly reliable lately, but he has a great history at this course. He was the 2016 winner of this tournament and he finished second in 2015. He has missed the cut in two straight and three of his last four, but I consider Colonial to be like Augusta for Spieth. He finished 11th at The Masters this year despite being in a bit of a funk and I think he will compete this week as well. This course suits his game and is in his home state.
Jason Dufner has 22/1 odds to win this week and he is another golfer that is comfortable at this course. He was the runner-up in 2012 and 2014 and he finished sixth here a year ago. Dufner hasn’t been lighting up the scoreboards lately, but he has been competitive. He has made the cut in 10 straight events, including seven top-25 finishes. At a course like Colonial, he should certainly be able to make a run with his consistent play.
Adam Hadwin is a bit of a dark horse that I like this weekend. The Canadian comes into the tournament with 40/1 odds. Hadwin snapped a two-year winless streak in 2017 when he won the Valspar Championship and he also has a runner-up finish this year in the CareerBuilder Challenge. He has made the cut in all 11 tournaments he has played in this season and he finished 22nd here a year ago. With his improved play in 2017, I think he should perform even better this weekend. Look for Hadwin to make a push to the top of the leaderboard and possibly cash in with long odds.
