RBC Canadian Open Picks

The 2017 RBC Canadian Open is set to tee off on Thursday morning. Here are the golfers we think can contend for the victory this weekend.

According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson is the favorite this weekend, as he has 6/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Matt Kuchar (11/1), Tony Finau (22/1) and Charley Hoffman (25/1). The RBC Canadian Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from Gleb Abbey in Oakville, Canada.

Bet on RBC Canadian Open

Dustin Johnson is not playing well right now, but it’s hard to pass up picking him in a field without many of the best golfers in the world. Johnson is still No. 1 in the world rankings despite finishing outside the top 50 in his last three events. Johnson has three wins this year and seven top-10 finishes out of 13 tournaments. He is in a funk, but he has finished second in this tournament twice. Coming back to this course and playing in a light field should help DJ get back on track.

Ian Poulter is listed with 45/1 odds this weekend. I think he can build off his nice showing in The Open Championship last weekend, where he finished 14th. Poulter has made the cut in eight straight tournaments and has been climbing up the world rankings. He hasn’t won a tournament since 2012, but his incline in play combined with a weak field makes him a strong candidate this week.

Chez Reavie is listed with 60/1 odds to win this week, but I think he is a nice dark horse pick. Reavie has struggled most of 2017, missing seven cuts. However, he has made the cut in his last five tournaments and in seven of his last eight. He finished fourth in the St. Jude Classic weeks ago and also finished 16th at the U.S. Open. Reavie played well in this event a year ago as well, placing 14th. He should bring some extra confidence into this tournament for that reason. I like him to make a run at the win this weekend.
