The Memorial Tournament Picks

The 2017 The Memorial Tournament tees off Thursday morning. Here are three golfers we like to be the top contenders for the victory.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Dustin Johnson is the favorite to win this tournament, as he has 6/1 odds to win. Other short odds are Jon Rahm (11/1), Jordan Spieth (12/1) and Jason Day (14/1). The Memorial Tournament takes place Thursday-Sunday from Muirfield Village Golf Course in Dublin, Ohio.

Bet on The Memorial Tournament

Dustin Johnson has been playing too well all year to pass up. He has a total of seven top-10 finishes in 10 tournaments this year and nine top-15 finishes. He holds three wins in 2017 and hasn’t finished worse than 13thin his last seven outings. Johnson also has done well at this tournament, placing third a year ago. Johnson should be able to produce another good weekend this week and make a push for his fourth win.

Hideki Matsuyama has 20/1 odds to win this weekend. I like those odds for a former winner of this tournament. Matsuyama took this championship in 2014 and now finds himself in the top-5 of the world rankings. He has one win already this year. He has finished outside the top 10 in his last six events, but I think he bounce back this weekend. This is a course he has navigated quite well in recent years, so Matsuyama will be looking forward to a familiar place.

Patrick Reed has 40/1 odds to win this weekend and that’s good value. After a poor span of missing the cut in three straight events, Reed has bounced back. He has placed 22nd or better in his last three tournaments and is building toward something bigger. Reed has won at least one tournament the last four years and is looking for his first win of 2017. I think it can come here, as he finished eighth in this tournament a year ago.
