Travelers Championship Picks
The 2017 Travelers Championship tees off tomorrow morning. Here is a look at the golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy are both listed as 10/1 favorites. Other short odds to win are Justin Thomas (11/1) and Jason Day (12/1). The Travelers Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.
Bet on the Travelers Championship
Rory McIlroy is someone I would expect to do well this weekend. He is coming off missing the cut at the U.S. Open, which was his first missed cut of 2017. In seven events this year, he has finished in the top 10 four times. I think he has another strong performance this week. McIlroy struggled last week, but that was a tough course for many of the top players. I don’t expect him to have another rough week in Connecticut.
Bubba Watson has 30/1 odds to win this tournament, which has been a very good tournament for him. He is a two-time winner of this tournament, last claiming the title in 2015. While 2017 hasn’t been a good year for him, as he has missed five cuts in 12 events, Watson should still do well this week. Watson is a guy that tends to do very well at certain courses. He has proven this is a course that favors his style and that won’t change this weekend.
Zach Johnson is listed with 60/1 odds to win this weekend. I think there is good value for him. While 2017 hasn’t been a great year for him, Johnson seems to be on an upswing. He has improved his finishes over the last four weeks, including a 27th-place finish in the U.S. Open. Johnson should continue to build on that this week in Connecticut. He finished sixth here two years ago, so it’s a course he’s comfortable at. I like Johnson as a dark horse pick.
