Phoenix Open Predictions
The 2018 Waste Management Phoenix Open begins play tomorrow morning with a stacked field. Here’s some golfers we like to contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers at YouWager, Jordan Spieth is now the favorite to win this weekend, as he has 8/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Hideki Matsuyama (10/1), Jon Rahm (10/1), Rickie Fowler (11/1) and Justin Thomas (14/1). The Waste Management Phoenix Open takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Bet on the Waste Management Phoenix Open
Jordan Spieth is someone I like this weekend. As the favorite, he has been playing well for quite a while. Over his last 12 events, he has nine top-10 finishes and a pair of victories. Two of the last three times he has finished outside the top 10, he has followed that up with a top-2 finish. Spieth was 18th at the Sony Open, so I expect him to bounce back this weekend at an event where he finished ninth a year ago.
Rickie Fowler has finished second in this tournament on two occasions, and I think this weekend could be where he finally gets the win. Along with his runner-up finishes, he was also fourth last year. This course just suits his game and he should be right in the mix against this weekend. Prior to a missed cut at the Farmers Insurance Open, Fowler had three straight top-5 finishes. I think he will get back to form in Arizona.
Phil Mickelson hasn’t had a lot of reasons to consider wagering on him lately, but Lefty is a three-time winner of this event and has 45/1 odds to win this weekend. Mickelson still holds the tournament record at 256 for 72 holes. While Mickelson hasn’t notched a win since 2013, he has placed in the top 20 in four of his last six events and now comes to one of his best courses. With the long odds, I like Mickelson as a dark horse option.
