Wells Fargo Championship Picks
The PGA Tour heads to North Carolina this weekend for the playing of the Wells Fargo Championship. Here’s three golfers we think will contend for the victory.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Rory McIlroy is favored to win this week, as he is getting 6/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Jason Day (10/1), Rickie Fowler (12/1) and Justin Rose (14/1). The 2019 Wells Fargo Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Bet on the Wells Fargo Championship
610001 Rory McIlroy 6/1
McIlroy is a two-time winner of this tournament and he holds the tournament record for low score, which he set in 2015. McIlroy hasn’t played since The Masters when he finished 21st. It was the first time he placed outside the top 10 in a tournament this year. In 2019, McIlroy has one win with five top-5 finishes. I expect him to continue to play well this weekend at an event he has been consistently strong at.
610002 Jason Day 10/1
Day is the defending champion of this tournament and he has been playing pretty well in 2019. Through eight events this year, Day has four top-10 finishes. That includes a fifth-place finish at The Masters weeks ago. Day has been able to rest up his back injury and I think he comes into this weekend with a lot of momentum. I expect him to be a top contender again.
610005 Sergio Garcia 25/1
Garcia finished runner-up in this event back in 2005 and he is coming into the weekend having a pretty solid start to his 2019 season. Despite missing the cut at Augusta, Garcia has finished in the top 10 in five of his 10 events this year. Following a finish outside the top 25 this year, Garcia has finished sixth or better. I think he will bounce back this week as well and contend for the championship.
