Wells Fargo Championship Picks
The Wells Fargo Championship is set to get underway on Thursday morning. Here are three golfers that we like to contend for the win this weekend.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Rory McIlroy finds himself as the favorite, as he has 15/2 odds to prevail. Other short odds to win are Justin Thomas (9/1) and Rickie Fowler (12/1). Tiger Woods is also competing this week. He has 28/1 odds. The Wells Fargo Championship will take place Thursday-Sunday from Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, NC.
Rory McIlroy 15/2
This tournament has been one of McIlroy’s best. He is a two-time winner of the event and he finished second in 2012. McIlroy owns the tournament record for this event at 21-under par, which he posted in 2015. He also comes into this tournament playing somewhat well. He has finished in the top 5 in two of his last three tournaments, including a win in the Arnold Palmer Invite. I expect McIlroy to have another strong run this weekend.
Justin Thomas 9/1
Coming off his best year in 2017, Thomas is continuing the momentum in 2018. He has played in eight tournaments this year and has finished 22nd or better in all eight. That includes four top-10 finishes and a win in The Honda Classic. Thomas just seems to be locked in and playing as well as anyone right now. I think he will make another push for the title this weekend.
Tiger Woods 28/1
Woods has had a few weeks off since the Masters, where he finished 32nd. Prior to that, Woods had finished in the top 5 in his last two tournaments, the Arnold Palmer Invite and the Valspar Championship. Woods looks like someone that is ready to play competitive golf again. He has gotten back to making cuts regularly (four straight) and being near the top of the leaderboard. Now it is time for him to take that next step and get his first victory since 2013.
