Open Championship Odds
We have arrived at the final major of the 2019 golf season as The Open Championship will be held this weekend in Europe. Here’s a look at the odds to claim the title.
According to the latest oddsmakers, Rory McIlroy is favored to win the major, as he is listed with 8/1 odds. Other short odds to win are Brooks Koepka (10/1), Dustin Johnson (14/1) and Jon Rahm (14/1). The 2019 Open Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from Royal Portrush Golf Club in Portrush, Northern Ireland.
McIlroy is third in the world rankings right now and he is a native of Northern Ireland. He has two wins in 2019 and 11 top-10 finishes. McIlroy has won four majors in his career, including the 2014 Open Championship. He has finished in the top 10 of the last two majors.
Koepka is first in the world rankings. He has one win this year and six top-10 finishes. Koepka has won four majors in his career, all coming since 2017. He has finished first or second in four straight majors. However, he hasn’t cracked the top five of this event in five appearances.
Johnson is second in the world rankings. He has two wins on the year with eight top-10 finishes. DJ has one major victory in his career, which was the 2016 U.S. Open. Johnson has finished second in two of the three majors this year, but only has three top-10 finishes in The Open Championship out of 10 appearances.
Rahm is eighth in the world rankings. He comes into this weekend with one win and 10 top-10 finishes in 2019. Rahm has yet to win a major in his career, but he has finished in the top 10 in three of the last four majors. However, The Open Championship has been a struggle for him. He has finished outside the top 40 in all three appearances.
